10 positive affirmations to say to yourself every morning
There was a time in my life when I hated my legs. I felt they were short and kinky which made me stop participating in short-distance races. Walking down the street always felt like everyone was staring at my legs because they didn’t look slim and slender like my girlfriends’ did.
For years, I switched to long ankle skirts, gowns, and long jeans just to hide my legs. My freedom came when I got to understand this scripture:
Matt 6: 22-23
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! When you wake up in the morning, what’s the first thing you say to yourself?
Do you hiss at the sight of that pimple on your chin?
Or sigh when you remember last night’s issues have not disappeared?
When you look in the mirror (if you do), who do you see or wish you could see?
Whatever the case may be, here’s one truth:
Choose to see yourself with God’s eyes
Nurture your spirit, soul, and body with these 10 self-affirmations every morning and bask in the peace of God. Take a good look at the mirror and whisper them lovingly to the woman you see:
I am fearfully and wonderfully made
I am loved
I am proud of you
I am confident in God’s presence and power in my life
I am who God says I am
Everything I touch is blessed
I am never confused in life
I am getting better every day
I deserve every good thing God has prepared for me
My faith makes me whole
Be clear, be confident, and don’t overthink it.
If He cares about the birds of the air, you can be rest assured, that He cares much more about you.
You are loved. (did I just see you smile?)
